We Have the Equipment...
We have the field equipment needed to conduct the cultural practices
required in most study plans. We either own or have access to tractors
of various sizes, cultivators, plows, planters, a vegetable transplanter, a
combine, a small plot thresher, and irrigation equipment.
All our equipment are regularly cleaned and maintained
according to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
We Have the Facilities...
Our main facility consists of a workshop and equipment
storage area, a chemical storage room, a sample processing room, offices,
supply storage, and on-site freezer storage (10' x 20').
The freezers and the chemical storage are
equipped with locks and data loggers which continuously record the
temperatures. The building security system also monitors the freezers
to indicate if temperatures rise above -5°C. If so, the system
automatically sends an emergency signal to a prioritized list of company
personnel.
We have many farms available across South West Ontario These areas offer a range of soil types and produce a wide range of crops for consumption in the province and for export. Corn, soybeans, edible beans, winter wheat, barley, and oats are the principle field crops. Vegetables such as potatoes, tomatoes, cole crops, cucurbits, and root crops are grown in pockets throughout our operation region. We have tobacco sites available for efficacy and residue studies. The pomme fruits we work on, apples and pears, are grown locally. Stone fruits and grapes are produced in the Niagara Peninsula, which we can reach in about one hours drive
from Cambridge. We have, since our inception, conducted studies on all
of these crops.
